Sat was grand final day, and what a day it was.
Easts Women had a full bench which meant that we could give our all, confident in the knowledge that there was plenty of back up. Ally even came back from the East Coast just to play, what a star!
We had a good warm up session and stirring words were said by the coach.
The first 2 minutes of our first game were awesome! We were tackling like women possessed and Raya executed an amazing run down the wing for our first try. I don’t think Burnie knew what hit them! We continued tackling well and everyone played a great game. The final score was 27 to 5.
Our second game was against Taruni and again it was an amazing game. We were on fire; everyone played. Jugz scored off a penalty, so no nudie run for her! And Raya converted which brought the score up to 7. We didn’t score again, but it was the best we had played all season and we had a ball out there. There weather was great, perfect Rugby playing weather. Final score 20 – 7.
Taruni went on to win the Grand Final, beating Quins by only 7-5.
The 2 final games were very exciting to watch. They were both close games and very full on, with massive tackles and a few yellow cards.
